This is a 16oz head with a 55mm face and a 90mm length on a shock-absorbing wooden handle. It does not bounce, so each strike goes where you aim it. Handy for pavers, tiles and anything else you do not want to dent.

Is it heavy enough for steel edging?
Yes. The 16oz head drives 100mm steel spikes into prepared soil. Tap, do not whack, and let the weight do the work.

How do I use it?
Hold it near the end of the handle, line up the face over the spike or the top edge of the section, and strike squarely. The rubber face spreads the blow so nothing dents.
Will it mark black or stainless edging?
No. That is the point of the rubber face. It drives the section down without scuffing the coating.
Does it bounce?
Very little. The head is designed to resist bounce so each strike lands where you aim it.

Yes. It is the usual tool for bedding pavers, tapping tiles and laying laminate, because it does not mark the surface.
Any safety tips?
Keep your other hand clear of the strike, wear eye protection if you are driving steel, and check the head is tight on the handle before each job.
What if a spike will not go in?
Stop. It has hit a stone. Move the spike a few centimetres rather than hitting harder, or the spike will split.
Can I use it with plastic edging spikes?
Yes. It is the right tool for them. A steel hammer splits the spike heads.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it down and store it dry. Keep the wooden handle out of the rain so it does not swell or crack.
Does the rubber wear?
It will scuff with use, which is normal. The head lasts a long time on garden jobs.

What if it arrives damaged or wrong?
Contact us with your order reference and photos where useful. Under the Consumer Protection Act, goods that fail the required quality standards within six months of delivery can be returned at our risk and expense for repair, replacement or refund. No change-of-mind deduction applies.
Can I cancel before it ships?
Contact support as soon as possible. The voluntary cancellation policy accepts requests within 12 hours and before shipment, with a 12.5% processing fee where the law allows it. Your ECTA and CPA rights are not reduced.

How to use it
Hold it near the end of the handle. Line the face up squarely over the spike head or the top edge of the section. Strike firmly and let the weight do the work. A square, moderate tap drives further than a wild swing, and it does not split the spike.
If a spike stops going in, it has hit a stone. Move it a few centimetres rather than hitting harder.
